February 2010 is Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month
Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month is an initiative to raise knowledge and responsiveness to teen dating violence among teens, parents, and communities. Every year, over 10% of California teens report being in an abusive relationship. One in three teens reports knowing a friend or peer who has been hit, punched, kicked, slapped, or physically hurt by a partner.
During February, join Peace Over Violence in spreading awareness about teen dating violence. Schedule an assembly at school, distribute materials during lunch, schedule a presentation on teen dating violence, create a poster or essay contest. Peace Over Violence can help you!
